Leslie Arden is the composer/lyricist/co-book writer of the critically acclaimed and multi-award winning THE HOUSE OF MARTIN GUERRE, which premiered at Chicago's Goodman Theater. She's written over a dozen other musicals, including the Chalmer's Award winning THE HAPPY PRINCE, and THEBOYS ARE COMING HOME, a musical adaptation of Shakespeare's "Much Ado About Nothing", which wa produced by Chicago's The American Musical Theatre Project in August 2006. LET THE BAND PLAY ON - is from a musical adaptation of Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing, currently entitled "THE BOYS ARE COMING HOME" IT STARTED OUT SO WELL - was written independently, and is not presently associated with a musical show. |

Zachary Florence, (www.zacharyflorence.com), works variously as a writer, composer and director. Writer/Composer: Experimental Selves, Goodman Brown, Children of Israel(in progress, work shopped at CanStage in May 004). Composer: Pure Water, Pure Heart and Gerda and the Snow Queen (both with lyricist/librettist Bill Martyn), Danton's Death, Metamorphoses, Arcadia. Director: Bloody Poetry, Elegies: A Song Cycle, In Trousers, Experimental Selves, Arcadia, Anyone Can Whistle. I DON'T WANT - is from THE ENCHANTED. Based on the Jean Giraudoux, French play "intermezzo", the story of a young lady in a provincial French town is obsessed by the supernatural. Most are tolerant of her, but the government inspector regards her as a threat to the moral order. He summons all of the authority and power of the state to rid her of her obsession. She falls in love, thereby discovering the joys of the normal world and accomplishing in a split second what law, force and logic could not. |

Jonathan Monro, (www.jonathanmonro.com), was born and raised in St. John's Newfoundland. He started his career as a concert pianist, and, at the age of 16 was featured soloist at Carnegie Hall. As an actor he has been featured in over fifty professional productions for film, radio, television, and stage, including two shows on Broadway. He now lives in Toronto. I WISH I'D GROWN UP IN THE 20'S - is from "Variations On A Nervous Breakdown", a four person, multi-character song cycle about people at the edge, about to crack. But these cracks - sometimes funny, sometimes not - are often necessary shifts in perception, leading us all one step closer to who they, and we, truly are. |

David Warrack, (www.davidwarrack.ca), has been a musical director for more than 250 shows for television and stage productions across North America, including Broadway. He has orchestrated everything from small jazz combos to symphony orchestras, and is credited with writing over 60 professionally produced musicals in a 34 year career. His most recent creation, Rob Roy, premiered the summer of 2005 at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. David is the founding conductor of the Canada Pops Orchestra. I'M GORGEOUS - is a song from the show, "I Just Dance". The story tells of a day in the life of Suzanne. It's a touching, realistic and often hilarious look at the dancer in transition, in both her personal and professional life. It's a showbiz story, that resonates for anyone facing life's challenges and trying to build new dreams. |
